Mike Leach recruiting Urban Meyer to teach class with him at Washington State
Urban Meyer has said he is unsure what the future will hold for him now that he only has one game left to coach at Ohio State, but Mike Leach already has an idea for the three-time national champion.
Last week, Leach sent a tweet asking Washington State students if they would have any interest in a six-week class entitled “Leadership Lessons in Insurgent Warfare & Football Strategy.” Leach said he is considering teaching the course along with Washington State Sen. Michael Baumgartner.
Hey WSU students, I’m thinking about teaching an evening seminar class next semester w my friend Senator Baumgartner. “Leadership Lessons in Insurgent Warfare & Football Strategy.” Would meet once a week for about 6 weeks. Would this be of interest?

Now that Meyer will have some free time on his hands this offseason, Leach wants to invite him to take part in teaching the course as well.

It’s always tough to tell when Leach is serious. He probably has the most unique sense of humor of any coach in college athletics, and a piece of artwork hanging on his office wall showcases that perfectly. But if he really does plan to teach a class, our guess is it would fill up in a matter of seconds. Meyer probably isn’t interested as he is looking to spend more time with his family, but that’s nice of Leach to extend the offer.
