Taulia Tagovailoa enters transfer portal, could leave Alabama
Alabama had two Tagovailoas on their roster last fall. They may not have any a year later.
Tua Tagovailoa left school to enter the NFL Draft, where he was taken by the Miami Dolphins. His brother Taulia was a freshman last season and has decided to enter the transfer portal, Matt Zenitz reported on Friday.
Taulia went 9/12 for 100 yards and a touchdown in three games last season. He was third on the depth chart at quarterback behind his brother and Mac Jones.
In addition to Jones, the Crimson Tide have five-star recruit Bryce Young coming in, which would make Taulia’s path to playing time more difficult.
Tua’s advice to his brother was to keep competing, but it looks like Taulia wants to head elsewhere.
Tua Tagovailoa on his advice for younger brother Taulia, who could be part of Alabama’s QB competition this spring and summer: “I think, just talking to him not too long ago, just to keep going. Just keep grinding. Just compete. That’s all it is. Compete.”
