Twitter reacts to Tennessee’s choke job against BYU in 2 OT
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for the Tennessee Volunteers, it got worse.
The Vols got embarrassed at home by Georgia State last week to start 0-1. Then they blew a lead on Saturday and lost at home to BYU in the second overtime 29-26. The Vols have now started the season 0-2 for the first time since 1988.
Their embarrassing coaching search that saw them run through multiple candidates, hire one and dump him, switch ADs, and then land on Jeremy Pruitt has only been surpassed by the brutal start to 2019.
As soon as BYU pushed its way into the end zone to win the game, the Twitter reactions came.

Every time you think Tennessee football cant find a more painful way to lose a game, they somehow do it. Its uncanny, really. Just incredible

Tennessee fans, golf is a great sport. Y'all should get a league going on Saturdays in the fall.

Tennessee led 13-3 at halftime, 16-10 early in the fourth quarter, and never trailed in regulation. They had BYU backed up to a 2nd-and-18 at the BYU 8 in the final minute. They had BYU with a 3rd-and-6 at the BYU 20 with 17 seconds left. Then they gave up a 64-yard pass play and field goal to tie it in regulation. They totally blew it. It’s going to be a long, long week in Knoxville.
