Bears trade three draft picks to move up for Mitchell Trubisky
Chicago Bears, desperation is thy name.
The Bears traded a third and fourth-round pick in this year’s draft along with a third-round pick in 2018 just to move up one spot to No. 2. With that pick, they selected former North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.
This is an awful deal for the Bears.
It’s bad enough to take a questionable prospect — a guy who only started one season in college — early in the first round. But it’s much worse to trade three picks in order to do so, especially when you’re only moving up one spot.
The Bears signed Mike Glennon as a free agent and expect him to play QB for them this season. But they can cut him after the season if they think Trubisky will be ready to take over.
