Report: Ben Roethlisberger out of concussion protocol and ‘fine’
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger left the practice field on Tuesday after he suffered an apparent head injury, but early indications are that it was not serious.
Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported on Thursday that Roethlisberger is not in the NFL’s concussion protocol and is doing “fine.”
Ben Roethlisberger is fine and out of concussion protocol.

Roethlisberger was not expected to play in this week’s preseason game against the Green Bay Packers before he suffered the injury, so he will certainly be sitting on Thursday night.
The Steelers have a new offensive coordinator this season, and the coach recently had extremely high praise for Big Ben. The 36-year-old has openly contemplated retirement in recent years and has been open in discussing the dangers of concussions, so any talk of a head injury for him is a concern.
