The Indianapolis Colts may have benched Anthony Richardson for the foreseeable future, but other teams are reportedly still very interested in trying to make something of the young quarterback.

The Colts received “multiple inquiries” about trading for Richardson, according to Stephen Holder of ESPN. The Colts refused to discuss any potential trade, suggesting they still view Richardson as a major part of their future.

James Boyd of The Athletic added that trading Richardson was “never” a consideration for the Colts.

The Colts benched Richardson after their Week 8 game as the quarterback continued to struggle to put together consistent performances. Previous reports had suggested that a trade was not on the table, even if Joe Flacco keeps the job for the remainder of the 2024 season.

Richardson had completed just 44.4 percent of his passes this season prior to his benching, with four touchdowns to seven interceptions. The numbers are bad, but it is quite clear that plenty of teams would still bet on the physical talent.
