Gold medalist LeShawn Merritt says DeAngelo Hall wanted to race him for his medal against $100K
“He is from the same area as me, and his agent was having a pool party right after the Olympics,” Merritt said. “D-Hall is a trash talker, so of course he started talking that he could beat me in a race. I just won the gold medal so I wasn’t hearing any of it. He was going to put up $100,000 against my gold medal. He wanted to do a 40-yard dash, but we settled on the 100-meter. Nothing ever came of it, though.”
Hall once ran a 4.15 40 and is one of the faster players in the NFL, but it’s no surprise he never went through with the bet. Merritt runs for a living, and he captured a gold medal by going up against other people who run for a living. In any event, we’re glad to see DeAngelo is more confident in his running skills than he is in his performance as a Redskin.
