After another early playoff exit, the Miami Dolphins are addressing quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s future with the organization.

Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said the team still wants to keep Tagovailoa long term. The quarterback is entering the final season of his rookie contract, meaning the team essentially needs to make a decision on him this offseason.

Notably, Grier did not necessarily balk at a potential $50 million annual asking price for Tagovailoa. That is essentially the going rate for a starting quarterback these days.

Tagovailoa had another excellent regular season, but questions linger about his ability to get it done in the playoffs. After leading the league with 4,624 passing yards, he was limited to 199 yards in a playoff loss at Kansas City.

Tagovailoa also seems to have a somewhat negative reputation in some circles around the league.

The Dolphins need to decide now if they are going to commit to him long-term, but it sounds like they are willing.
