Donald Trump’s second presidency could lead to big change for Jets?

Donald Trump defeated Kamala Harris in the 2024 U.S. president election on Tuesday night, and the election result could lead to an organizational change for the New York Jets.
Jets owner Woody Johnson served as the United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom from 2017-2021, which was during Trump’s first presidency. According to SNY’s Connor Hughes, many expect Johnson to be appointed as an ambassador by Trump again.
When Johnson worked under the Trump administration several years ago, he stepped away from day-to-day operations with the Jets and handed control to his brother Chris. The 77-year-old will do so again if he returns to his position as ambassador to the U.K.
I don’t talk politics on here and won’t start, but Donald Trump winning the election could have a direct impact on the #Jets.

Hughes noted that Chris Johnson is “well respected” within the Jets organization.
Woody Johnson has been the owner of the Jets since 2000. One theory is that his previous government position played a role in the timing of his decision to fire Robert Saleh. Whatever the case, he might be stepping away from the Jets again in the near future.
