Report: Dwayne Haskins a possibility for Raiders at No. 4

Dwayne Haskins

The Oakland Raiders have multiple first-round picks to work with in what will be new general manager Mike Mayock’s first NFL Draft with the team, and speculation is growing that they could use one of them on a quarterback.

While both Mayock and head coach Jon Gruden have expressed full confidence in Derek Carr, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Oakland’s brass was impressed by former Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins when they hosted him for a workout. The Raiders apparently moved Haskins up their draft board, and they could consider taking him at No. 4.

With the Arizona Cardinals still widely expected to take Kyler Murray first overall, there is a lot of difference in opinion over who will be the second QB to come off the board. One team has supposedly explored the possibility of moving into the top five to draft Haskins, but they may have to get even higher than that if the Raiders like him.

Of course, a lot of this information could be planted by agents or teams to strengthen their own positions. We won’t know how things are going to play out until Thursday night, but Haskins’ stock seems to be rising at the right time.
