Eagles console Alshon Jeffery after mistake leads to interception
Alshon Jeffery made a costly mistake at the end of the Philadelphia Eagles’ 20-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints in their playoff game on Sunday, and he was consoled by members of the team afterwards.
Philly had a 2nd-and-10 at the Saints 27 and was in good position to potentially take the lead late in the contest. However, a Nick Foles pass went straight through Jeffery’s hands and was intercepted by Marshon Lattimore.
The Saints got the ball back by with under two minutes to go and converted a third down to seal the game.
FOX later showed Jeffery on the sidelines being consoled by Doug Pederson and Foles.

This only seemed fair for the Saints, who were eliminated from the playoffs last season after Marcus Williams whiffed on a tackle in the divisional round, leading to a stunning Vikings win. This time in the postseason, a break went their way and not Philly’s.
The defending Super Bowl champs have now been eliminated from the postseason, while the Saints will host the Rams in the NFC Championship Game next weekend.
