Eagles fans start petition to have Pope Francis bless Sam Bradford’s knees

Sam-Bradford

Philadelphia Eagles fans are excited about the prospect of Sam Bradford slinging the ball around in Chip Kelly’s offense. Of course, Bradford needs to remain healthy for the plan to work.

Fans are hoping the Pope can help with that.

A petition has been started on Change.org urging Pope Francis to bless Bradford’s knees when he arrives in Philadelphia next month. The Pope will be in Philly on Sept. 26 and 27 at the conclusion of the World Meeting of Families.

“With this Eagles season coming up, a lot of our Super Bowl hopes rely on Sam Bradford’s knees staying healthy,” the petition reads. “So, with one of the most religious representatives in the world visiting our wonderful place we call home, how about we get him to bless Bradford’s knees during his visit to Philly! This town deserves a Super Bowl, and a healthy Bradford is the only way we will have a parade down Broad Street! Please sign this petition and Go Eagles and Welcome to Philly, Pope Francis!!!!”

Bradford, as you know, has suffered multiple serious knee injuries throughout his career. As of Monday afternoon, the petition had more than 800 of the 1,000 signatures it is seeking.

If Eagles fans were really thinking, they’d beg Pope Francis to get together with another quarterback on their roster. Imagine if those two met to discuss football? A championship would be a virtual lock.
