Ezekiel Elliott: Cowboys don’t play for ‘the talking heads’

Ezekiel Elliott

Ezekiel Elliott acknowledged this week that he deserved to be criticized for the effort he put forth in Sunday’s loss to the Denver Broncos, but that does not mean he is spending a lot of time worrying about what the media has to say.

On Thursday, Elliott was asked if Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys are motivated to prove people wrong after getting blown out. He said he and his teammates don’t care about the opinions of “talking heads.”

The unique thing about this particular situation is that most of the things that were said in the media this week were the same ones Elliott’s coach and team owner said. The Cowboys don’t need “talking heads” to tell them they played horribly, but facts are still facts.

Elliott rushed for just eight yards on nine carries against Denver, which was by far the worst game of his young NFL career. You can already tell he is itching to bounce back after some of the comments he made this week.
