Jets open to trading No. 3 overall draft pick

The New York Jets are open to trading the No. 3 overall pick in the draft.

Jets GM Mike Maccagnan spoke to reporters from the NFL Combine on Wednesday and said they are open to a move if the right deal comes along.

“Right now, we feel good at No. 3, but I’d definitely say if there’s an opportunity to trade down, we would absolutely look at it,” he said, via ESPN’s Rich Cimini.

The Jets are looking to rack up some picks after trading several away last year to move up to the No. 3 spot to take Sam Darnold. They traded two second-round picks in 2018 and a second-round pick in 2019 to move up the three spots for the USC QB. Now that they have the franchise QB on their roster, they want to stock up and are willing to move down to do so.

The other team in the city — the Giants — have been mentioned as a potential trade partner. The Giants have said they are planning to keep Eli Manning around next season, but there have been some reports saying they like Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who could require a move up from their sixth spot.
