Josh Jacobs should return from shoulder injury against Jaguars

Josh Jacobs

Oakland Raiders running back Josh Jacobs missed last week’s game with a shoulder injury that apparently sounds a lot worse than it actually is, because he is expected to return on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Jacobs underwent an MRI this week and got some “very positive” news on his shoulder, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports.

Jacobs revealed on social media last week that he has been playing through a fractured shoulder since Week 7, which sounds like it would be a painful injury for anyone and even more serious for a running back. With the Raiders no longer in the playoff hunt, it was fair to wonder if they would shut the rookie down rather than risk having him injure himself further. However, doctors have apparently determined Jacobs is fine to play.

In 12 games this season, Jacobs has rushed for 1,061 yards and seven touchdowns and has averaged an impressive 4.9 yards per carry. The Raiders are looking to go out with a bang on Sunday in what will be their final game at Oakland-Alameda Coliseum.
