Kirk Cousins now 0-9 on ‘Monday Night Football’ after poor game

Kirk Cousins

Kirk Cousins entered Monday night’s huge game against the Green Bay Packers 0-8 all-time on “Monday Night Football.” The record only got worse after his poor game against the Packers.

Cousins went just 16/31 for 122 yards, one touchdown and an interception in the 23-10 loss. The yardage total was Cousins’ lowest since Week 1, which was only lower because his Vikings beat the Falcons so badly they didn’t need to pass the ball. He also was sacked five times.

The night got off to a bad start when the Vikings offense took over at the Green Bay 10 after a fumble on the opening possession. All they could manage was a field goal. They capitalized on the next turnover with their only touchdown of the game, but after a third turnover, Minnesota’s offense turned the ball over on downs in Green Bay territory.

The Vikings went three-and-out four times. When they had a chance to take some momentum in the third quarter, Cousins got fooled by Green Bay’s coverage and threw an interception. He failed to generate any points over the final 47 minutes of the game.

Cousins is now 0-9 on Monday Night Football. Though you win as a team and lose as a team, the reality is he did not play well.
