Kliff Kingsbury jokes Patrick Peterson owes Cardinals in light of suspension

Patrick Peterson

Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson will sit out the first six games of the 2019 season due to a suspension, but he’s left a bit of a parting gift.

Peterson bought the team ice cream before he departs the team due to his drug-related suspension. That prompted a joke from coach Kliff Kingsbury, who said it was the “least he could do” in light of the suspension.

Yes, Kingsbury was joking. It’s a pretty good zinger, though, as long as Peterson isn’t bothered by it.

If nothing else, Peterson’s ice cream treat should endear himself to his teammates. Maybe it’s another sign that he still wants to stick around for a while after his 2018 trade demand.
