Kyle Shanahan not considering QB change yet
Kyle Shanahan isn’t quite ready to make a quarterback switch for the 0-4 San Francisco 49ers.
Shanahan spoke with the media on Monday, a day after his team’s overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He said he’s not at a point yet where he’ll switch away from starter Brian Hoyer.
#49ers coach Kyle Shanahan says he has not yet reached a point where he'd consider making a change at quarterback.

Hoyer has only scored three touchdowns this season (two passing and one rushing), and all three came in the same game. He has been intercepted four times — once per start.
The 49ers’ offense has been pathetic nearly all season, with the exception of their loss to the Rams in Week 3. The problem is they don’t have many better options. Rookie C.J. Beathard is their backup QB, but he was a third-round pick and not a highly regarded prospect by many. However, Beathard played well in the preseason and was good enough to beat out Matt Barkley for the job.
If Hoyer doesn’t show improvement, the team might make a move to Beathard at some point. Either way, it’s going to be a long season in San Francisco, with not many wins in their future.
