The Philadelphia Eagles broke their three-game losing streak Monday with a win over the New York Giants, albeit in unconvincing fashion. The mood of the team did not seem great either, which coach Nick Sirianni put on his own shoulders.

On Tuesday, Sirianni admitted that he felt he was too uptight on the sideline during the game, and that he has to be better in projecting more calmness.

“I definitely think that starts with me, quite frankly. There were moments in that game yesterday where I felt like I was too tense on the sideline and I need to be better about that,” Sirianni said, via Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia. “I have to do a better job. If I’m going to ask the players to do a better job themselves, then I have to do a better job myself and I definitely felt that yesterday out of myself.

“I need to be better in those scenarios when there is some high-pressure areas; they’ve got to see me calm and not tense there. There is a time and place to be tense and there’s a time and place not to be.”

Sirianni was seen having a heated discussion with players and staff members on the sideline late in the game. Quarterback Jalen Hurts also had a pointed message for the team the week prior, and some have noted that there seems to be a rather dour mood around the team despite their 11-4 record.

The Eagles have a chance to finish strong with winnable games against the Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants. Maybe that will help lift the mood ahead of the playoffs.
