Fans were irate over the new Zoom commercial

Zoom commercial during Packers-49ers Divisional Round game

One particular commercial shown during the Divisional Round clash between the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers game clearly got on fans’ nerves.

Allegiances may have been split on Saturday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. But Packers and 49ers watching from home appeared to be united in their hatred of the latest commercial from Zoom.

The commercial featured iconic soccer sportscaster Andrés Cantor, who’s best known for how long he can shout, “Gooooool!” Zoom had Cantor instead say, “Zoooooom!”

Zoom’s idea may have sounded quirky and fun during their marketing team’s brainstorming session. But in reality, fans on X found it the “worst thing I’ve ever heard.”

Some fans even threatened to stop using Zoom out of protest against the monstrosity of a commercial.

Fans who gritted their teeth through Zoom’s commercial were at least rewarded with some high-intensity football.

The underdog Packers held a lead over the 49ers for a majority of Saturday’s contest. Green Bay entered the fourth quarter with a 21-14 lead, but were outscored 10-0 in the final quarter.

Packers kicker Anders Carlson’s missed 41-yard field goal attempt with 6:21 left loomed large over the final result. His kick could have given the Packers a 24-17 advantage with the clock dwindling down.

Instead, the 49ers scored a touchdown on the very next drive and secured their place in the NFC title game.

Zoom might want to consider a backup commercial if they also have a spot for that contest.
