Report: Patrick Peterson received assurances from Cardinals ownership

Patrick Peterson

Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson seemed to publicly back down from his trade demand on Wednesday, releasing a statement saying he was focused on trying to help turn the organization around and would remain there for years to come.

The statement comes days after Peterson reportedly asked the Cardinals to trade him.

The turnabout for Peterson, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, came after a meeting with Cardinals president Michael Bidwill. There, he received assurances from ownership that the Cardinals are committed to turning things around.

The Cardinals are a miserable 1-6, and it doesn’t look like they’ll be turning things around this season. Peterson will have to take ownership at their word, because it’s a roster that needs a lot of work.
