New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave suffered his second concussion of the season in Week 9, and he will now be sidelined for an extended period of time.

The Saints have decided to place Olave on injured reserve, according to multiple reports. That means he will miss at least the next four games and not be eligible to return until Week 15, as New Orleans also has a bye during that span.

Olave was sandwiched between two defenders on a pass over the middle in the Saints’ 23-22 loss to the Carolina Panthers last week. The star receiver took a brutal hit to the head area and was carted off the field.

Olave also suffered a concussion in Week 6 and missed the following game. He has had at least three concussions during his NFL career.

The 24-year-old Olave has 32 catches for 400 yards and a touchdown this season. He is by far the Saints’ best receiver, so Derek Carr will have his work cut out for him for at least the next four games.
