Sean McVay reveals reaction he had when Tom Brady unretired

Sean McVay and his Los Angeles Rams got the best of Tom Brady en route a championship last season, but that does not mean McVay is looking forward to facing the seven-time Super Bowl champion again.

McVay was asked on Tuesday how he felt when Brady retired and then returned less than two months later. The coach said said he was not thrilled.

“I was thinking, ‘S—, man, can we get this guy the hell out of this league?'” McVay said, via Mark Maske of the Washington Post.

That reaction was hardly exclusive to McVay. Most coaches around the NFL felt the exact same way. Brady will turn 45 before the start of next season, but he looked as dangerous as ever in 2021. He finished with 5,316 yards, 43 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in what was one of his best seasons.

The Rams are still the team to beat in the NFC, but their path to repeating as champions certainly would have been easier if Brady stayed away.
