Even Steelers LB was shocked over how many sacks the defense got

The Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night sacked Andy Dalton more times than he ever had been in an entire game. The defense’s elevated sack total — eight for the game — was so much it left even one of their players astounded.

ESPN Steelers reporter Brooke Pryor tweeted on Monday night about an exchange after the game. She says reported were asking Bud Dupree about the team’s eight sacks when teammate Tyler Matakevich tapper her on the shoulder in disbelief to verify the team really did get eight sacks.

Favorite locker room moment of the night: We were huddled around Bud Dupree asking him about the Steelers eight sacks when Tyler Matakevich tapped me on my arm.

When I turned around, he asked, "I'm sorry, but did he say eight?"

I nodded my head.

The Steelers’ win was thorough domination. They held the Bengals to 175 yards and forced two turnovers, in addition to the eight sacks.

Pittsburgh finally got its first win of the year, while Cincinnati is now 0-4.
