Todd Gurley backs ‘GOAT’ Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson

Adrian Peterson’s performance in his first game with the Cardinals led to Todd Gurley urging doubters to not disrespect the future Hall of Famer.

After an unproductive four games with the Saints, Peterson was traded to the Cardinals last week for a draft pick. In his first appearance with Arizona, Peterson turned back the clock to his days with the Vikings.

The Cardinals defeated the Buccaneers on Sunday 38-33 and Peterson played a big part in the victory. He carried the ball 26 times for 134 times and two touchdowns, including this 27-yard run on his first drive with his new team.

Peterson’s performances with the Saints led many to say he’s washed up and no longer a threat to defenses. To that, Rams running back Todd Gurley said not so fast and urged doubters to not disrespect who Gurley feels is the greatest of all time.

A running game is exactly what the Cardinals need after David Johnson was lost to wrist injury in the team’s opening game. While games like Peterson had against Tampa Bay may happen as often as they used to, the Cardinals will likely give him every opportunity to show he still has more than a little left in the tank.
