Top safety prospect likely to miss NFL Combine with wrist problem
Alabama safety Deionte Thompson is expected to miss the NFL Combine after undergoing surgery to correct a wrist problem.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, Thompson required surgery to repair a torn ligament in his wrist on Friday. That surgery is expected to rule him out of the Combine, but is not expected to have any impact on his long-term health or career prospects.
#Bama safety Deionte Thompson, one of the top safety prospects in the NFL Draft, had surgery to repair a torn ligament in his wrist Friday morning, source said. Unlikely he will take part in the Combine next week in Indianapolis, but no issues long term.

Thompson ranks as the top safety in the draft on most boards. While unfortunate that he won’t be able to show off at the Combine, it appears unlikely that this will seriously trouble his draft stock.
