Exaggerator wins Preakness Stakes, ends Nyquist Triple Crown bid (Video)
Exaggerator exacted revenge on Nyquist by winning the 141st Preakness Stakes with an unofficial time of 1:58:31 on Saturday, two weeks after the reverse happened at the Kentucky Derby.
The two horses trudged through a muddy track at Pimlico in Baltimore and were head-to-head down the stretch before Exaggerator pulled away.

Jockey Kent Desormeaux rode Exaggerator to victory and described the ride as a “dream trip.” It was Desormeaux’s third time winning the Preakness. He teamed up with his brother, Keith, who trained Exaggerator.
Though Nyquist battled for the lead most of the way, he fell behind Cherry Wine and finished in third.
