Chris Bosh has funny trash talk for Steve Kerr ahead of NBA Finals

Chris Bosh

It’s safe to say that Chris Bosh is pulling for the Toronto Raptors on a number of different fronts in this year’s NBA Finals.

The retired 11-time All-Star was on TSN Sports ahead of Thursday’s Game 1 and had some funny trash talk for Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr. Bosh shared a funny story about how Kerr, who is going for a third straight championship, told him that he was not going to three-peat when he was a member of the Miami Heat. The 34-year-old then looked straight into the camera and said, “You’re not gonna do it either, Steve!”

Bosh and the Heat “only” managed to win back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013 before losing in the Finals to San Antonio in 2014. Of course, Bosh was also drafted by Toronto back in 2003 and played the first seven seasons of his career there.

While Bosh did hit a rough patch with the Raptors faithful after leaving to sign with the Heat in 2010, it’s obvious that they are back on the same side again as Toronto looks to capture its first NBA title at the expense of Kerr’s Warriors.

Watch: Chris Bosh has jersey retired by Miami Heat

Chris Bosh

Chris Bosh is now the fourth player in Miami Heat history to have his jersey retired by the franchise.

The Heat bestowed the ultimate honor on Bosh by raising his No. 1 jersey to the rafters of American Airlines Arena during a special ceremony on Tuesday.

The team also created a tribute video showing some of Bosh’s memorable moments with the organization.

Bosh spent six seasons in Miami and was part of two championship winning teams. He ranks fifth in franchise history in points (6,914), seventh in rebounds (2,816), and seventh in blocks (332). He remains active in helping the team’s players.

Shaquille O’Neal, Tim Hardaway and Alonzo Mourning are the other Heat players to have their jerseys retired by the team. Dwyane Wade’s day should come soon after his retirement at the end of the season.

Chris Bosh now working with Heat players

Chris Bosh

The Miami Heat are now getting some tips from a familiar (and beloved) face.

Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports that former Heat All-Star Chris Bosh was working with the team’s players on the practice court over the weekend.

The 34-year-old Bosh was also in attendance for both of the team’s home games this weekend and was in the locker room offering pointers following Miami’s loss to Minnesota on Sunday, per Five Reasons Sports Network.

Bosh, a six-time All-Star selection and two-time champion in his six seasons with Miami, has not played in nearly three years due to a blood-clotting issue. The Heat still figure to feel like home for him though, especially since there remain seven players on the current roster (Goran Dragic, Udonis Haslem, Tyler Johnson, Josh Richardson, Dwyane Wade, Hassan Whiteside, and Justise Winslow) who were teammates with Bosh.

There does still appear to be hope from Bosh that he can somehow return to the NBA, but keeping close to the action as a quasi-assistant for his former team has to be the next best thing.

Chris Bosh wins case against mother over home eviction

Chris Bosh

Chris Bosh has been wrapped up in a legal war with his mother over a home she had been living in that he owns, and a judge has reportedly ruled in the NBA star’s favor after his mother sued him.

Earlier this year, Bosh’s mother Freida filed a lawsuit claiming Chris promised to take care of her and allow her to live in the Desoto home for the remainder of her life. Freida says Chris had her sign documents in 2005 related to the deed of the home, and she believed at the time that she was signing papers related to her divorce from Chris’ father, Noel, to transfer the house to her name. Instead, she says the documents transferred the house to Chris’s name only.

Freida was suing to stop Chris from evicting her, and court documents obtained by The Blast show that a judge sided with Chris in his decision. The judge dismissed the case after hearing arguments from both sides, meaning Freida will have to cover all court costs and Chris can proceed with the eviction.

The drama between Bosh and his mother came to light last year when Freida was accused of running a drug operation out of the Texas home. She claimed Chris was trying to have her evicted from the home before that and that she took on short-term tenants to help pay for legal bills to fight the eviction. Freida blamed one of the tenants for creating the drug issues.

Chris Bosh believes LeBron James will sign with Rockets

LeBron James

LeBron James is going to have several teams to choose from in free agency this summer, and one person who knows him better than most has a bold prediction about where the three-time NBA champion will end up.

In an appearance on Colin Cowherd’s FS1 show Thursday, Chris Bosh predicted that LeBron will sign with the Houston Rockets this summer.

“I would guess that he’ll go to Houston,” Bosh said. “It’s like the next Avengers movie — Golden State with 100 superheroes and then Houston with 100 superheroes and they fight. That’s just what it’s coming down to. … I think with the dynamic that Houston has, you could argue that they could have taken Golden State down this year.

“I think it’s gonna be one of those things kind of like what Golden State did. (Kevin Durant) went there and they teamed up, and it’s kind of like, ‘OK, beat this.’ Now I think it’s on another organization to give that same narrative.”

Bosh played with James for several seasons with the Miami Heat and won two championships with him, so you could say his opinion holds weight. Still, the biggest argument against LeBron going to the Western Conference is that the road to the NBA Finals would be much more difficult. Then again, he’d probably have to beat the Warriors at some point anyway in order to win a title, so why not get it out of the way a round or two sooner?

No one really knows if LeBron has narrowed down his decision yet, and there have been some truly wild theories about where he might end up. It’s tough to imagine him, James Harden and Chris Paul being able to share the ball enough, but perhaps Mike D’Antoni could find a way to make it work.

Chris Bosh being sued by mother Freida over eviction from home

Chris Bosh

Chris Bosh has been trying to have his mother evicted from a house he owns in Texas, and the NBA star is reportedly being sued over it.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Bosh’s mother Freida has filed a lawsuit claiming Chris promised to take care of her and allow her to live in the Desoto home for the remainder of her life. Freida says Chris had her sign documents in 2005 related to the deed of the home, and she believed at the time that she was signing papers related to her divorce from Chris’ father, Noel, to transfer the house to her name. Instead, she says the documents transferred the house to Chris’s name only.

Here’s more:

She claims that before signing the deed, Chris promised her that she could remain in the home for the duration of her life. Freida says she relied on her son’s promise that he would take care of her and manage her affairs.

However, she claims Chris misrepresented the documents she was signing and the documents actually transferred the property to Chris solely.

Freida claims she only learned that she didn’t own the home in August 2017, when she was contacted by Chris’ lawyer.

The suit says Chris has tried to evict her and continues to try and withhold the home from her. Freida is seeking unspecified damages and the return of the home and wants the court to void the deed transfer.

Chris Bosh has denied the allegations and wants the lawsuit thrown out.

The drama between Bosh and his mother came to light last year when Freida was accused of running a drug operation out of the home. She claimed Chris was trying to have her evicted from the home before that and that she took on short-term tenants to help pay for legal bills to fight the eviction. Freida blamed one of the tenants for creating the drug issues.

Chris Bosh’s mom allegedly exploited disabled man in drug ring

Chris Bosh

Chris Bosh’s mother has been arrested and accused of exploiting a disabled man as part of her drug dealing.

Frieda Bosh had been living in a home that was running a drug trafficking operation, and was a suspect in that ring. She has now been arrested with an added accusation — that she was forcing another resident of the home, Johnathan Brown, to use his disability check to pay for rent.

The drug ring was Brown’s, and according to the police report via TMZ Sports, Bosh “allowed this to occur as a means of obtaining free narcotics and marijuana from Brown, while also allowing narcotics and marijuana to be distributed from the offense location.”

Bosh’s mother has denied wrongdoing and accused son Chris of trying to evict her. Chris Bosh himself is not said to be involved in any of the potential illegality.
