ESPN announcer Dave Pasch mocks Kim Kardashian Twitter post with hilarious photo

Dave Pasch Bill Walton

Kim Kardashian inadvertently set off a funny trend on Twitter Tuesday with a post showing off her wealth and good fortune.

Kardashian boasted about how she was able to celebrate her 40th birthday with a trip to a private island. Here was the Twitter post:

The post did not go over well for many reasons. Most notably, boasting about how great things are going for you while so many people in the world are struggling leads to resentment.

Many people mocked the post by using it as a template in which they included a funny photo.

ESPN announcer Dave Pasch had the best photo of all. He shared a picture of his broadcasting partner, Bill Walton, dressed up with a grass skirt.

That was a winner.

PFT Commenter nailed it too with an old photo of NFL coaches.

New Jersey’s Twitter account also had a winner:

Well played by all, especially Pasch.

Report: Mike Golic to call games with Dave Pasch, will not travel

Mike Golic

Mike Golic is still under contract with ESPN even after having the plug pulled on his radio show. The plan for him this season is to return to working as a college football analyst, and we now know who his broadcast partner will be.

ESPN is pairing Golic with Dave Pasch, according to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post. Pasch worked alongside Greg McElroy last season, but McElroy is expected to pair up with former “Monday Night Football” play-by-play man Joe Tessitore.

ESPN will be limiting which broadcasters can travel to games due to the coronavirus pandemic. As of now, the plan is for Golic and Pasch to call games remotely.

Golic worked as a college football analyst early in his career with ESPN, so he has familiarity with the role. He probably would have preferred to remain on the radio, as evidenced by the pitch he reportedly made to bring back his old show.

It’s unclear what the college football schedule will look like, as the Big Ten and Pac-12 have already canceled their fall seasons. The SEC, ACC and Big 12 are still planning on playing.

ESPN announcer takes funny shot at Bill Walton

Bill Walton

With their truly one-of-a-kind dynamic, Bill Walton and Dave Pasch are one of the greatest (and wackiest) broadcasting duos in sports today, and we got another reminder of that this week.

On Thursday, Pasch responded to a tweet asking for advice from any sports media figures and got in a funny shot at his longtime booth partner Walton.

Walton and Pasch have been calling Pac-12 college basketball games on ESPN together for six years now. The latter handles play-by-play duties and the former provides the (very colorful) color.

Yes, each of their broadcasts promises a delightful space-age fever dream, and whether Walton is dropping knowledge about the Wasatch mountain range in Utah or trying to light grass on the air, it’s safe to say that we will never tire of him driving Pasch to the brink of insanity.

Announcers flipped coin for who would interview Gregg Popovich (Video)

Dave Pasch Gregg PopovichHow unsettling is it to interview Gregg Popovich? It’s such a terrifying prospect that the ESPN announcers for the San Antonio Spurs-Utah Jazz game on Wednesday night actually flipped a coin to see who would be forced into the charade. Unfortunately for play-by-play announcer Dave Pasch, he lost the coin toss with Jon Barry and had to go through the routine.

It was actually quite amusing to watch Pasch go through the motions with Pop. He followed typical interview protocol by asking a follow-up question because of Pop’s terse response to the initial question about the team’s defense, and when he was getting ready to ask a question about a second subject matter — which was technically his third question — Pop informed him of the two-question limit.

Darn that Pop! That guy is so on top of things! It’s like he’s just counting his way down to two during the interviews. He actually reminds me of the clown from “Happy Gilmore.” No matter what you do, he’s always going to find a way to piss you off and laugh in your face:
