Paulina Gretzky recently got married to Dustin Johnson after nearly a decade of being in a relationship together. Apparently her parents were big supporters of the wedding.

Gretzky answered fan questions over her Instagram Story on Sunday. She was asked by a fan how her father Wayne recated to meeting Johnson for the first time.

“He told me I should marry him …” Paulina responded.

That’s a pretty nice reception from her father.

Marrying into the Gretzky family can’t be easy. Imagine going to meet your girlfriend’s father, and it’s the greatest hockey player ever. There has to be some intimidation going on. But apparently Wayne liked Johnson.

There seemed to be a ton of family support for the relationship between Paulina and Dustin. You may recall that it was Paulina’s mom Janet who initially set up the couple.

Gretzky and Johnson got engaged in 2013, though they did not marry until this year. They have two sons together.

Dustin Johnson is one of many golf stars who left the PGA Tour this week to join the Saudi-backed LIV Golf league, and it doesn’t look like he has any intention of returning one day.

Speaking to Sky Sports’ Jamie Weir on Friday, the former world No. 1 golfer made it clear that he’s done with the PGA Tour. Johnson says he will only play in LIV events and major tournaments in the future.

When asked about what he plans to do with the extensive amount of free time he’ll have by not playing on the Tour, Johnson delivered a blunt response.

“I can do whatever the hell I want,” Johnson told Weir.

Johnson confirmed Tuesday that he had resigned from the Tour to join LIV, saying that he would play in the league “for now.” His comments Friday seemed to indicate that his decision could be permanent. Johnson played in the league’s inaugural event in London this week. He is reportedly receiving a massive amount of money to switch leagues.

The 37-year-old wouldn’t be able to play in PGA Tour events even if he wanted to. The Tour announced Thursday that current and former Tour members taking part in LIV events would be suspended from any PGA Tour-sponsored events. In addition, any player who participates in future LIV events will face similar suspensions.

Johnson joined the Tour in 2008 and has 24 victories. He is a two-time major winner.

Dustin Johnson made clear Tuesday he is committed to the Saudi-backed LIV Golf league, as the former world No. 1 confirmed that he had resigned from the PGA Tour in order to play.

At a Tuesday press conference, Johnson admitted he had resigned his PGA Tour membership in order to join LIV, and he will take part in the new league’s inaugural event in London this week. The two-time major champion said he is still hopeful of being able to play in all four of the traditional major events while also fulfilling his LIV commitments.

“Obviously at this time it’s hard to speak on what the consequences will be, but for right now, I’ve resigned my membership from the PGA Tour,” Johnson said. “I’m going to play here for now, and that’s the plan. What the consequences are going to be, I can’t comment on how the tour is going to handle it.”

By resigning from the Tour, Johnson is ineligible for both the Ryder Cup and the Presidents Cup. His status for majors is not completely clear, but as the PGA Championship is the only one organized by the PGA itself, there is at least a chance that the other three majors could decline to abide by Tour guidance and allow the likes of Johnson to compete.

Johnson is one of a number of well-known golfers to break away from the PGA Tour to compete in the controversial Saudi-backed league. The league has offered up huge sums of money to top players to try to lure them away from the PGA Tour, and Johnson is no exception. The Tour has taken a firm stance against any golfer who opts to join up with the rival league, essentially forcing anyone interested to pick a permanent side.

Dustin Johnson getting paid ridiculous amount of money by Saudi golf league

Dustin Johnson is the biggest name who will be participating in the Saudi golf league that begins play this month. It turns out he was paid a whole lot of money to participate in the league against the wishes of the PGA Tour.

Telegraph Sports reported on Wednesday that Johnson was paid around £100 million to flip-flop and join the LIV Golf league. That works out to about $125 million.

The PGA Tour threatened members with bans if they decided to play in the new rival league. In February, Johnson issued a statement saying he was committed to the PGA Tour. But when the list of participants in LIV’s first even was revealed on Tuesday, Johnson’s name was included.

The Saudi Arabia-backed league apparently came back and offered Johnson more money to entice him to join. The plan worked, though it wasn’t without a cost for Johnson. The 37-year-old golfer lost RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) as a sponsor. RBC is the title sponsor of two PGA Tour events.

“RBC is a proud partner of the PGA Tour. Our partnership is anchored with two world-class golf tournaments—the RBC Heritage and the RBC Canadian Open. The PGA Tour has been clear about its intentions in accordance with its tournament regulations should a golfer choose to play in a tournament outside the tour, including the LIV Golf Invitational Series,” RBC said in a statement.

Other notable golfers set to play in the league’s first event at Centurion Club include: Sergio Garcia, Ian Poulter, Kevin Na, Lee Westwood, Louis Oosthuizen, Martin Kaymer, Charl Schwartzel, Graeme McDowell and Talor Gooch.

The list of participants in next week’s Saudi-funded LIV Golf Invitational was released on Tuesday night, and it contains big-time PGA Tour names. Perhaps none of the names were bigger than Dustin Johnson, a two-time major champion.

Other players in the field included Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia and Charl Schwartzel.

One notable name not on the list was Phil Mickelson. Mickelson received a ton of backlash following his negative remarks about the Tour earlier this year.

Many players on the PGA Tour had released statements affirming their commitment to staying on the Tour in response to Mickelson, including Johnson.

“I am fully committed to the PGA Tour,” Johnson said in a statement released in February. “I am grateful for the opportunity to play on the best tour in the world and for all it has provided me and my family. While there will always be areas where our Tour can improve and evolve, I am thankful for our leadership and the many sponsors who make the PGA Tour golf’s premier tour.”

Earlier this month, the Tour announced that it would deny waivers to players seeking to compete in LIV Golf events.

A memo to members read, “As a membership organization, we believe this decision is in the best interest of the PGA Tour and its players.”

Johnson and the other Tour players are potentially risking a loss of membership by competing next week.

The LIV Golf Invitational will take place at the Centurion Club in London from June 9-11. The tournament offers $25 million in prize money that is backed by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund.

PGA superstar Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky finally got married over the weekend after years of being engaged.

Gretzky, the daughter of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky, shared some photos on Monday from hers and Dustin’s wedding. The two got married at Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tenn., on Saturday.

Johnson and Gretzky had been engaged since 2013. They have two sons together — 6-year-old Tatum and 4-year-old River. The two met in 2009, started dating in 2013 and got engaged just months later. They had said they were not in a rush to tie the knot but finally did on Saturday.

Gretzky and Johnson went through a rocky period in their relationship a few years ago after some cheating rumors but clearly got past that.

Johnson has 24 wins on the PGA Tour, including two majors. His last victory came at the Masters back in 2020.

Paulina Gretzky, Dustin Johnson send guests gifts ahead of wedding

Paulina Gretzky and Dustin Johnson have been engaged since 2013, but the time to tie the knot has arrived. The daughter of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky and one of the world’s top golfers will finally get married later this year.

And with the date coming up quickly, the duo have begun sending out gift baskets to their guests. Luxury, high-profile gift baskets at that.

Gretzky’s friend, Kristina Melnichenko, and Dustin’s sister, Samantha, each shared photos of the gift baskets to their Instagram accounts this week. Inside, they found a $300 bottle Cristal champagne and a $400 set of Baccarat crystal champagne glasses.

Now that’s living the high life!

Gretzky and Johnson have two sons together — Tatum, 6, and River, 4. They will both be on hand as their parents exchange their vows at Blackberry Farm in Tennessee.

Paulina Gretzky broke her dating policy for Dustin Johnson

Dustin Johnson Paulina Gretzky

Paulina Gretzky, daughter of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, long adhered to a very specific set of dating rules. Having grown up around athletes, she refused to date them. She believed they viewed her as little more than a trophy and that any interest they had in her was insincere.

But things changed in 2011. Gretzky broke her own set of rules when she began dating golfer Dustin Johnson.

During an appearance on the “Pillows and Beer” podcast this past Thursday, the 32-year-old Gretzky explained how her anti-athlete wall had been torn down.

“How I looked at it was like, I don’t ever want to date somebody that’s an athlete because, whether or not it was me or not, I felt like it was like a achievement for them. Being with me, dating me, whatever it was, it just didn’t feel authentic,” Gretzky explained. “I truly stayed away from athletes, I really did.”

Then she met Johnson, the world’s No. 3-ranked golfer.

“Dustin was the first person, I won’t talk about the other one before … I didn’t like that, really,” Gretzky said, denying that she was ever a cleat-chaser.

Gretzky and Johnson became engaged in 2013 and have two sons together — Tatum, 6, and River, 4. More than sports and entertainment, family life has become their top priority.

“For me, golf was always the most important thing. And now, it’s Paulina and the kids. And they’ll always be the most important,” Johnson told Golfweek last September. “Obviously, I love the game of golf, competing and playing. But they’re the most important thing.”

By all accounts, Gretzky made the right decision when breaking her own rules. And now, she and Johnson will be wed at Blackberry Farm in Tennessee.

Dustin Johnson, Paulina Gretzky celebrate Halloween with President Trump

Dustin Johnson Paulina Gretzky

Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky celebrated Halloween at the famous Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Fla., on Sunday, and it looks like the power couple spent some time with the owner. That would be former US president Donald Trump.

Both Johnson and his fiancee shared a photo on social media of them posing with Trump at the Mar-a-Lago club, which Trump owns.

Trump wasn’t in costume, so it’s possible he was just popping in to say hello to some of the party-goers. The 45th US president has been living at Mar-a-Lago since he left office. He also spent a lot of time there during his presidency, making it his “Southern White House.”

Johnson and Gretzky live in Palm Beach. Johnson has golfed with Trump in the past, and the two seem to have a close relationship.

Trump has been quite visible over the past several days. In addition to enjoying Halloween with Johnson and others, he also went viral for his actions at the World Series on Saturday night.

Dustin Johnson was so wasted at press conference after winning Ryder Cup

Dustin Johnson Ryder Cup

Dustin Johnson put on a masterful performance during the Ryder Cup this year. Then he put on a master class showing his teammates how to celebrate.

DJ went 5-0 at the Ryder Cup, becoming the first American golfer to go 5-0 at the Ryder Cup since Larry Nelson in 1979.

After dominating the competition and helping his country to a win over Team Europe, DJ celebrated accordingly.

He drank from a massive bottle of champagne:

It’s no surprise that he seemed pretty wasted at the press conference after the event.

Take a look at this answer:

Johnson, who is 37, was also asked whether he could still out-party his younger teammates. His answer was classic:

What a legendary performance from DJ and what a legendary answer.
