Is Alex Bregman testing out a new cornrows hairstyle?
A few photos of the Houston Astros third baseman circulated on social media Monday that appear to show Bregman wearing braids.
Check out this hair:
Bregman would have had plenty of time to get his hair braided. He was among the five Astros players who have been sidelined for seven days after they were deemed close contacts of someone who tested positive for COVID-19. He and three of his teammates have been cleared to play on Tuesday.
Maybe we’ll be able to see on Tuesday whether Bregman’s hair was temporary or if he still has the braids. He joins another famous athlete to go with the braids look recently.
Kyle Kuzma has done it again.
The Los Angeles Lakers forward bleached his hair blond yet again. The hair color was visible when Kuzma spoke with the media on Thursday.
You may recall that Kuzma also went blond at the start of last year, though he looked a little different.
According to Ryan Ward, Kuzma said that Anthony Davis told him to do it. Maybe Davis felt that the Lakers needed Kuzma to change the Lakers’ fortunes amid a four-game losing streak.
Kuzma is averaging 12.4 points per game this season, but he may have a larger role with Davis and LeBron James out.
Will Compton got absolutely roasted over his new haircut.
The Tennessee Titans linebacker got a haircut on Wednesday that he said was inspired by the TV show “Peaky Blinders.”
Unfortunately, the haircut didn’t look quite as good on Compton as it does on Cillian Murphy.
Compton was immediately mocked over the look. Teammate A.J. Brown said the haircut was “horrible.”
Even the Titans roasted Compton over Twitter, making up a fake injury report and putting Compton on it for his bad haircut.
Credit Compton for taking it all in stride as that was pretty hilarious. We know what you were going for too, Will. Don’t sweat it. But that was probably the worst haircut we’ve seen in the NFL since this one.
Jayson Tatum has been complimented for years now as having arguably the best hairline in the NBA, but the Boston Celtics star is rocking a new look in advance of the resumption of the season. Let’s just say the feedback has not been overwhelmingly positive.
Tatum let his hair grow out after the NBA season was postponed, and the 22-year-old is now rocking some serious curls. Dwyane Wade was among the many who commented on Tatum’s hairstyle.
It didn’t stop there, but at least Tatum has a sense of humor about it. The former Duke star tweeted on Saturday about how people are trolling him. You can see some of the most popular responses below:
Tatum’s hairline has been a topic of discussion on multiple occasions — usually when his peers are talking about how much they envy it. It doesn’t seem like his new look is going to draw the same praise. At least it’s nowhere near as bad as Shaq’s hairline was after he lost a bet to D-Wade.
Colombia defeated Poland with an emphatic 3-0 victory on Sunday at the FIFA World Cup, and Twitter was simply delighted to see one of the country’s most iconic soccer players in attendance — with the same hairstyle he wore in the 1990s.
The legendary midfielder, arguably Colombia’s greatest ever player, was in attendance at Sunday’s game alongside another former Colombian standout, goalkeeper Rene Higuita. Naturally, they both enjoyed the show — and so did Twitter, as Valderrama’s memorable blonde hairstyle hasn’t changed a bit in the last twenty years, even though the man who wears it is now in his 50s.
Soccer players often indulge themselves with unique and flamboyant haircuts. None match this. When you’re El Pibe, though, you can do whatever you want.
Texas forward Dylan Osetkowski is always keeping people on their toes when it comes to his hairstyles, and Saturday was no exception.
The Longhorns junior went viral during Texas’ game against rival Oklahoma thanks to his braids. He even got some meme treatment. Take a look:
Twitter is firing up the grill to barbecue themselves some Bryce Harper.
On Tuesday, the Washington Nationals outfielder showed off a rather interesting new hairstyle on his Instagram Story: cornrows.
Let’s just say that the ‘do wasn’t exactly the biggest hit with the good folks of the Twitterverse, who promptly showered Harper with relentless ridicule.
Golden State Warriors center JaVale McGee claims he has a new look for 2017, and we can only hope he’s joking.
McGee shared a photo on Instagram Tuesday that featured some variation of the rat tail haircut that was popular (for some inexplicable reason) in the 1980s.
McGee was clearly getting a haircut at the time the photo was taken, so it’s possible he was just messing around before the rest of his hair was chopped off. However, this is the same guy who unveiled a similar whacky haircut a few months back, so we wouldn’t put it past him.
If McGee is hoping to start a new fashion trend, he might end up disappointed.
Tom Brady, man of many haircuts, is tossing a new one at us as he prepares to sit out the first four weeks of the 2016 regular season.
Brady took the podium for his scheduled press conference on Tuesday sporting a slightly new look. For those of you who are in your late 20s or early 30s, the best way I can describe it is Brady has decided to rock the Shawn Hunter.
If you don’t get the “Boy Meets World” reference, you didn’t have a childhood.
Never change, Tom.
Zach Auguste is receiving some attention during the NCAA Tournament for all sorts of hair reasons.
The Notre Dame senior forward has a curly style on top and some brown/gold in the middle. He looks a lot like Odell Beckham Jr. with his hairstyle. Or as someone else described it, a box of curly fries:
Auguste serves as team barber for Notre Dame, hooking up his teammates with their ‘dos.
