New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman appears to be in danger of missing little, if any, time as a result of his rib injury.
A source told Ian Rapoport of NFL.com that Edelman would be “good” going forward, and the Patriots haven’t even ruled him out for Week 4, suggesting he could still feature.
Source on Julian Edelman: “He’ll be good” … Another indication that the injury isn’t major and he hasn’t been ruled out for this week. https://t.co/n4a6hAX0BU

The 33-year-old is off to a solid start to 2019, with 17 catches for 196 yards and a touchdown through three weeks.
All signs indicate that Edelman isn’t dealing with anything serious. It’s too early to issue an injury designation for him right now, but he’s more or less questionable for Week 4, and we’ll see how he progresses and how cautious the Patriots want to be.
Julian Edelman left Sunday’s game against the New York Jets with a rib injury, but initial indications are that he may have avoided anything serious.
Edelman underwent X-rays after exiting the 30-14 win, and Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that they came back negative.

Even if the injury was one Edelman could have played through, there was no need for him to in a game that the New England Patriots completely dominated. Edelman will likely undergo more tests, but it’s hard to draw conclusions from the fact that he didn’t play in the second half on Sunday.
Edelman appeared to suffer the injury when he was speared by a Jets defender while on the ground. He has battled a number of injuries over the past few seasons and has played in 16 games in a season just once in the past five years. Hopefully the latest is nothing serious.
New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman left his team’s game against the New York Jets late in the second quarter on Sunday with an injury, and he was not on the field or the sideline at the start of the second half.
The Patriots announced at halftime that Edelman was questionable to return with a chest injury. He appeared to grab his midsection after being hit hard by a couple of Jets defenders with about 1:00 remaining in the first half. Here’s a video of the play:

It will be hard to get a read on how serious the injury is, as the Patriots were leading 20-0 at the time Edelman left. Even after releasing Antonio Brown this week, they probably did not need Edelman to beat the Jets.
Edelman has battled a number of injuries over the past few seasons. He missed a large portion of the preseason with a hand injury and has played in 16 games in a season just once in the past five years.
Julian Edelman is already feeling great about the addition of Antonio Brown to the New England Patriots.
Edelman created some new merchandise that he advertised through his Twitter account Saturday. He is selling a shirt featuring a “Bill’s Plan” logo referencing Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. The back lists many of the team’s skill position players and their nicknames. The shirt even includes Brown, who was signed by the Pats on Saturday, five hours after being released by the Raiders.

The early love between them seems to be mutual. Brown posted a photo on his Instagram account Saturday showing him and Edelman together.
Brown’s caption called him and Edelman “Wesley and Woody,” which seems to be a reference to “White Men Can’t Jump.”
Things seem to be starting off swimmingly between Brown and the Patriots. Then again, you saw how things began between him and the Raiders, and we know what happened there.
New England is just hoping Brown keeps it together for the year so they can win a ring and then reassess.
Just what do some with the New England Patriots think of the Antonio Brown signing? They must be celebrating.
Julian Edelman gave us a glimpse of how the Patriots are feeling about adding Brown. He tweeted about business with the Patriots booming thanks to the Brown addition.

The Patriots lost Rob Gronkowski to retirement and have now gained Josh Gordon (who was previously suspended) and Antonio Brown, two of the most talented wide receivers in the league. There is even speculation that Gronk might return.
Things are looking up for the Patriots, while the Steelers have to be furious over what’s transpired.
Tom Brady gave fans a glimpse into how he has managed to stay young all these years when he broke out some yoga poses during the New England Patriots’ preseason game on Thursday night, and Julian Edelman apparently gave him a hard time for it.
Brady looked as serious as ever while going through his yoga moves on the sideline, and Edelman appeared to come over and say something to the 42-year-old while he was going through the routine. On Friday morning, Brady took to Twitter to ask his good buddy what was so funny.

Laugh all you want, Jules. Brady is used to be mocked for his incredibly unique lifestyle, but he’s also coming off yet another Super Bowl victory and looks like he could play until he’s 50. If yoga helps, other players should start taking notes.
Julian Edelman gave New England Patriots fans a scare when he was forced to leave Thursday night’s preseason game against the New York Giants early with an injury, but the team is apparently not concerned about it.
Edelman was playing in his first preseason game after missing several weeks with a broken thumb, and the initial fear was that he re-aggravated the same injury. However, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that it was actually a separate hand injury and Edelman is expected to be “fine.”
#Patriots WR Julian Edelman left last night’s preseason game earlier than planned, but my understanding is he did not re-injure his thumb. And his hand, the one he landed on, is fine. A minor scare for Edelman, but nothing major.

Based on that report, it would be a surprise if Edelman did not play against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1.
Edelman is by far Tom Brady’s favorite target, and Brady could look to him even more often this season with Rob Gronkowski having retired. The 33-year-old receiver caught 74 passes for 850 yards and six touchdowns last season despite appearing in just 12 games, as we was suspended to start the year.
