Blake Griffin went ‘Chappelle Show’ Prince after major dunk

Blake Griffin dunk

Blake Griffin lit things up on Tuesday with another one of his amazing dunks.

In the first quarter of the Los Angeles Clippers’ game against the Utah Jazz, Griffin went hard to the basket and slammed on Rudy Gobert with what may have been his best dunk since the one on Mozgov.

It wasn’t just the way he dunked that was awesome; it was how Griffin just hung on the rim like a boss that also stood out. The comparisons to the infamous Prince sketch from “Chappelle’s Show” came right away — for good reason:

Hawks rookie John Collins throws down must-watch dunk at Summer League

Atlanta is excited about rookie John Collins, whom the Hawks drafted No. 19 overall. Collins is a big man, and he played in the post during his two years at Wake Forest, but he has the athleticism to play with wings.

That athleticism was fully on display Wednesday afternoon at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. Collins took a pass from the top of the key, charged to the basket, and posterized New Orleans’ Cheick Diallo and Keith Benson.

Have a look at the monster flush below:

Talk about having springs for legs. The Hawks lost, 105-95, but Collins was a bright spot. He scored 25 points, shot 11-for-15 (!) from the field and snatched nine rebounds. Last year for the Demon Deacons, Collins averaged 19.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. He was named first team All-ACC.

Though Collins fell out of the lottery, some analysts are speculating he can be an immediate-impact guy for the Hawks.

Not to get carried away following one dunk, but … can we please have Collins in the 2018 Dunk Contest?

Giannis Antetokounmpo goes flying on another impressive dunk

Giannis Antetokounmpo dunk

The Greek Freak was at it again on Saturday night.

During the third quarter of Milwaukee’s game against Miami on Saturday, Giannis Antetokounmpo took off on a dunk from just inside the free throw line and soared in for the jam:

You saw that correctly: Antetokounmpo only needed one step after crossing halfcourt to complete that dunk. Awesome.

Wayne Selden destroys Baylor with dunk, uncle has great reaction (Video)

Wayne Selden uncle

The only thing better than Wayne Selden Jr’s dunk on Baylor in the second half of Kansas’ Big 12 Tournament semifinal game on Friday was the reaction from Wayne’s uncle, Anthony.

Take a look at this monster jam by Selden on Baylor. The video gets even better as Selden’s uncle Anthony loses his mind in the stands:

Of course the guy wearing the Flava Flav clock around his neck would react like that. That was awesome.

Here’s another angle:

He apparently bought the parts for the clock at the family dollar store.

Harrison Barnes dunks on Mozgov, Mike Miller (Video)

Harrison Barnes made a statement early in the fourth quarter of Game 5 of the NBA Finals Sunday night with a huge dunk on two Cavaliers players.

Barnes took a bounce pass from Steph Curry into the key and decided to go up strong to the basket. He threw down a big dunk on Timofey Mozgov and Mike Miller, and he drew a foul for good measure. Though he didn’t complete the 3-point play, it was still a big boost for the Warriors.

The only positive for Mozgov is that at least this dunk wasn’t as bad as the one Blake Griffin did on him five years ago.

LeBron James goes Air Jordan in Game 4 dunk vs. Hawks (Video)

LeBron James added another dunk to his ever-impressive highlight reel with a sensational jam against the Atlanta Hawks in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Tuesday night.

James got a steal in the first quarter, based to teammate Iman Shumpert, and then Shump gave it right back to LeBron, who was off to the races. James took flight a step inside the free throw line and soared to the rim for a powerful dunk that got everyone on their feet.

Whether you compare it to Dr. J or Michael Jordan, that certainly was up there. This is definitely my favorite LeBron dunk since the one where he jumped OVER John Lucas.

Blake Griffin unloads three monster dunks on Aron Baynes (Video)

Aron Baynes is going to have nightmares about Blake Griffin for the next two weeks.

The Los Angeles Clippers forward absolutely destroyed Baynes with three monster, tone-setting dunks during Game 1 of the Western Conference playoff series between the Clippers and Spurs at Staples Center Sunday.

Griffin beat Baynes one-on-one for his first huge dunk during the third quarter. Next he took an awesome pass from Chris Paul on a pick and roll and then yammed on Baynes, who was late rotating over for the weakside help. Then Blake showed off some great footwork with a beautiful spin move that he punctuated with a powerful dunk over Baynes once again. It was awesome.

Griffin finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds, six assists and three blocks and three steals in the big Game 1 win.
