Former NFL cornerback Stanley Wilson II was arrested earlier this month for the second time since June. He was naked both times.
According to a police report obtained by The Oregonian, Wilson was found “running around” in the nude outside the home of a person he did not know on Jan. 10. He told police he lived nearby, but the address he gave did not check out.
Wilson was already facing charges of first-degree burglary, attempted first-degree burglary, second-degree criminal trespass, second-degree disorderly conduct and aggravated harassment stemming from an incident in June where he tried to break into someone’s home. The 34-year-old, who was naked while breaking and entering, was shot in the abdomen by the homeowner and treated at a hospital.
No new charges were filed against Wilson this time, but he has now violated the terms of his pretrial release on multiple occasions. He remained in the Multnomah County Detention Center on $160,000 bail as of Wednesday. Wilson was in tears when his latest mug shot was taken.
As Matt Bonesteel of the Washington Post reminds us, Wilson’s father Stanley Wilson was banned from the NFL for life for violating the league’s substance abuse policy multiple times. The elder Wilson played for the Cincinnati Bengals from 1983-1988 but was banned for the entire 1985 and 1987 seasons for failing drug tests.
Johnny Manziel was all smiles in his mugshot after turning himself in Wednesday the day before his first court hearing for his domestic violence case.
The free agent quarterback was booked by police in Highland Park, Texas, and posted bond. He is facing up to a year in prison and a $4,000 fine for allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend late in January.
He is set to appear in front of a judge on Thursday.
Manziel is accused of beating ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley and rupturing her eardrum. He was not charged initially, but charges later came after the case went to a grand jury. He and Crowley reportedly reached an out-of-court settlement.
Sapp is the latest ex-athlete-turned-commentator to be arrested for soliciting a prostitute.
TMZ reports that Sapp was arrested in Phoenix Monday morning for soliciting a prostitute around 7:00 a.m. He was also reportedly arrested for alleged assault.
Sapp, 42, was taken into custody from a hotel in Downtown Phoenix.
If you’re wondering what he was doing with prostitutes at 7:00 a.m. and why he was arrested for alleged assault, we now have some more details.
ABC 15 in Phoenix reports that Sapp met two prostitutes in the lobby of the hotel where he was staying and took them up to his room. An altercation allegedly ensued after they discussed prices, and the prostitutes left and flagged down police officers to report the incident. The women reportedly suffered minor injuries.
On February 2, 2015 at 2:30 a.m. Phoenix Police officers working security at a Downtown Phoenix hotel were investigating a noise disturbance when they were contacted by a female alleging she had been assaulted. The incident was alleged to have occurred in a guest room, after meeting in the lobby while she and another female were there as escorts. During a meeting in the room, an argument ensued, allegedly over money and the altercation turned physical, spilling out into the hallway.
During the investigation detectives were able to establish that an act of prostitution occurred in the room by at least one of the females. Sapp was detained and transported to Phoenix Police Headquarters. While there he was questioned and admitted involvement in the act of prostitution, but denied assaulting the females. Minor injuries consistent with a struggle, were observed by investigators on both females.
Sapp was transported to the Maricopa County Jail and booked on charges of Soliciting Prostitution and two counts of assault, both misdemeanor offenses.
One female was cited for one count of Prostitution and released, the second female left the scene prior to detectives arrival but was later located at a Peoria hotel. She was interviewed, and cited for a violation of the City’s escort permit requirements and released.
A former New Hampshire native who is a die-hard New England Patriots fan was arrested in Florida last month and charged with felony drug possession and trespassing. While the average person would have to tell you that he or she is an avid fan of an NFL team for you to know, Victor Thompson’s mug shot says it all.
Thompson, 46, has a tattoo on his head that is supposed to make it look like he’s wearing a Patriots helmet. He has team logos on each side of his head and small American flag and NFL logos on the back of his neck. He even has “Riddell” written across his forehead and a small green dot on the back of his head like the one quarterbacks wear to show officials their helmet has a microphone.
When officers arrived at the scene, they observed “blood, swelling to the nose, lacerations to the forehead and nose area of the victims face.” The victim was reportedly being uncooperative and claimed she fell but could not recall any details of her supposed tumble.
Oden, who said he dated the victim for two years but that the couple has been broken up for two months, admitted that he hit the woman.
“Things got out of control and I started to go after the victim,” he said. “My relative and witness tried to hold me back, but I swung my arms to move them out of the way, then punched the victim in the face. I was wrong and I know what has to happen.
A relative who lives at the home where the incident took place told police that she woke up when she heard Oden and the victim arguing. She said they argue frequently.
Oden has been booked on a Class A misdemeanor for battery with injury and a Class B misdemeanor for battery. This probably won’t help his chances of signing with an NBA team this offseason.
As for the mug shot — Ohio State must be cringing.
Does this look like the face of a man arrested for doing something wrong?
Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly disturbing the peace while assisting a woman who overdosed on cocaine at a Towson bar.
Police were called to The Greene Turtle after a woman was found unconscious in the bathroom. Smith was in the bathroom trying to assist her and told police he had done a photoshoot with the woman earlier in the evening. A small bag of cocaine allegedly was found in the woman’s purse.
According to the police report, Smith was told that because he wasn’t related to the woman and wasn’t helping her that he needed to leave so that medical personnel could attend to her and Smith replied: “I am helping her.”
According to the police report, Smith was asked three times by an officer to leave the restroom before being ushered out to the hallway. Smith allegedly cursed at the arresting officer and asked him “What the [expletive] are you gonna do?” When told again to leave, Smith replied: [Expletive] you. What the [expletive] are you gonna do?”
Smith is the fifth Ravens player arrested this offseason, though he is by far the happiest. I think you have to let the guy go based solely on that mugshot. Nobody that happy could have possibly done something wrong.
