Rams have to do 1 thing for chance at signing Odell Beckham Jr.?

The Los Angeles Rams took a big punch on the chin from the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night, losing 24-9. The defending Super Bowl champs sure look like they could use reinforcements. Some help could come later in the season in the form of wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who helped the Rams win a Super Bowl last season but is rehabbing a knee injury.

Late in the 49ers’ win over the Rams on “Monday Night Football,” the ESPN broadcasting team discussed Beckham’s situation.

Reporter Lisa Salters said Beckham was in the Bahamas rehabbing and watching the Rams.

“The Rams are like family to him,” Salters said of Beckham.

Salters then went on to share Beckham’s feelings on the situation.

“There’s love on both sides, but this is a business. If I had my way, I’d love to be back with those guys,” Salters said of what Beckham told her about a Rams reunion.

Beckham is interested in a reunion with the Rams, and the Rams want him back. But there is one thing the Rams need to do to have a shot at re-signing Odell.

ESPN announcer Joe Buck discussed the situation from the perspective of Rams coach Sean McVay. Buck said McVay was dying to get Beckham back in Week 10 or 11. But Buck said the Rams know they face one issue: they need to be in contention.

“We have to stay in it and be relevant so that he wants to come back to the Rams,” Buck said of what McVay’s mindset is on how to get Beckham back.

Buck said the Rams know Beckham will have his choice of teams when he’s recovered, “and McVay wants him to slide right back into his old locker.”

The information the Monday night team had about Beckham comes from interviews they conduct with team personnel prior to the game. Broadcasters get to interview coaches and players in order to provide them with helpful information for the broadcast. It sounds like the ESPN announcers got the inside scoop on a potential Beckham return.

The Rams are now 2-2. They have three straight home games ahead, including a rematch against the Niners.

Saquon Barkley drops interesting hint about reuniting with ex-teammate

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley had an interesting answer when asked which of his former teammates he would most like to play with again.

Barkley revealed in an interview with Tony Anderson of USA Today’s “Sports Seriously” podcast that he spoke to Odell Beckham Jr. following Monday’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys, and suggested he would love to play with the wide receiver again.

“The obvious would be Odell Beckham,” Barkley said. “I just got off the phone with him last night, talking about (Sterling Shepard). O, he’s a different cat. Special player, especially with the ball in his hands. The things he can do on a football field, how he’s able to just light up a stadium. I know that he’s doing everything he can in his rehab to come back even better. You never know, hopefully one day we’re back on the same team.”

Obviously, there is nothing to suggest Barkley is recruiting Beckham back to New York. However, it’s certainly notable that they sound like they talk regularly. Plus, the regime that got rid of Beckham is gone now, and the Giants are looking a bit thin at wide receiver after Sterling Shepard’s season-ending injury.

On the other hand, Beckham probably wouldn’t be too enthusiastic about playing regularly at MetLife Stadium again. He will be in high demand once he recovers from his ACL injury, and will likely have a shot at joining a playoff contender.

Odell Beckham Jr. has 1 big complaint about Sterling Shepard injury

Odell Beckham Jr. had a big complaint after watching Sterling Shepard go down with a non-contact knee injury on Monday night.

Shepard on Monday suffered a torn ACL in his left knee. The knee injury comes less than a year after Shepard suffered a torn Achilles’ tendon in his left leg.

Beckham, who teamed with Shepard on the New York Giants from 2016-2018, was upset after seeing his former teammate go down.

Beckham blamed the injuries on the playing surface at MetLife Stadium.

“Just get rid of it all the fkngether (sic) bro,” Beckham wrote. “Billions made off this game I can’t understand why we can’t play on grass. That shxt (sic) is rough. Prayers up for my brother. Shxt (sic) just hurt my heart.”

MetLife Stadium uses FieldTurf, which is a brand of artificial turf. There have long been questions and suspicion that injuries occur more commonly on artificial turf rather than real grass.

Beckham suffered an ankle injury in 2017 with the Giants and quad injury the following season. He suffered a torn ACL in 2020 with the Browns. He is currently recovering from a torn ACL suffered in the Super Bowl with the Rams.

Beckham knows everything Shepard has been going through and all about the surgery and rehab he has ahead. He feels badly for a reason.

Odell Beckham Jr sparks fresh rumors with latest QB meeting

Odell Beckham Jr has yet to find a new team as he continues to recover from the torn ACL he suffered in the Super Bowl. There have been plenty of rumors about where he might sign, and the star wide receiver sparked a fresh one on Sunday with one of his on-field interactions.

Beckham was at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans for the Saints’ game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Prior to kickoff, he and Tom Brady shared a long hug and spoke for a while on the field.

The video went viral and left many people asking the same question: Do the Bucs have room for one more?

The Buccaneers are loaded at the wide receiver position, though their depth has already been tested. Chris Godwin missed Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury, and Julio Jones sat out with a knee injury. Mike Evans was ejected in the second half for his role in a brawl that broke out (video here).

Brady and Beckham have been friends for many years. One report even claimed they want to play together. No one would be stunned if it happened.

Rams had to take unusual step over Odell Beckham Jr. appearance

The Los Angeles Rams welcomed some former players back Thursday as part of their celebration of the team’s Super Bowl title. Nothing about that is unusual, but the organization was forced into an amusing and unusual move to comply with NFL protocol in doing so.

Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was on hand Thursday as part of the pregame ceremony. Since Beckham is currently a free agent, however, the Rams had to report his appearance to the league as an official visit.

The NFL has specific protocols like this for good reason. Secret visits could certainly provide problems or give certain teams unfair advantages in recruiting players. Considering Beckham was front and center, however, there was little risk of that happening here.

The Rams still want Beckham back, and there have been some hints that it might happen. Whether he returns or not, Thursday’s so-called visit probably will not be a decisive factor.

Odell Beckham Jr. sparks mystery with video comments to Cooper Kupp

Odell Beckham Jr. sparked some mystery with comments he made to Los Angeles Rams star Cooper Kupp.

A video posted by Void Media on TikTok during the week showed Beckham video-chatting with Kupp on what appeared to be FaceTime.

“I’mma see you on December 13th,” Beckham said. “I’m watching all your … I’m at your first game though, bro.”

What happens on December 13th? That’s the big mystery.

The Rams play the Raiders on Thursday Dec. 8 in Week 14. They would then have a long week to prepare for a Dec. 19 game against the Packers in Week 15. December 13 is a Tuesday and could be the first day back at the facility for the Rams following Week 14. Rams fans are hoping that is the case and that Beckham is signaling he will return to the Rams that week.

Beckham is still rehabbing a torn ACL suffered in the Super Bowl in February. A report in June suggested that Beckham could miss the first two months of the season before being ready to return.

The 29-year-old began last season with the Browns but forced his way out of Cleveland. The Rams acquired him, and he caught five touchdowns in eight regular season games with his new team. Though Beckham remains a free agent, the Rams have been actively trying to re-sign him.

Kupp was a monster with the Rams last season and had 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns. Like many of his coaches and teammates, Kupp wants Beckham to return to the Rams.

Odell Beckham Jr. open to unlikely reunion?

Odell Beckham Jr. sure knows how to build drama.

The free agent wide receiver sparked a bit of mayhem this week with some comments that he made about his old team, the New York Giants. Beckham responded to a fan who commented underneath one of his recent Instagram posts for Beckham to “Come back to New York.”

The former Pro Bowler was receptive to the message and wrote back, “that was [fire emojis]!! well [sic] seeeeee I do miss my damn squad. Wanted to win a ring for that city.”

Soon to turn 30, Beckham was a first-round draft pick by the Giants in 2014 and rose to superstardom with them over the first several years of his career. But his relationship with the Giants went south after Beckham signed a five-year extension in 2018. The ex-LSU star openly criticized then-quarterback Eli Manning and the team’s coaching staff, which angered Giants ownership. Beckham was ultimately traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2019, less than seven months after signing his extension.

Beckham returning to the Giants after all that would certainly be something. But perhaps Beckham is just trying to create hype around himself since he has also been teasing interest in other prominent NFL teams.

Odell Beckham Jr had surprising reaction to Baker Mayfield’s Panthers debut

A Super Bowl ring apparently changes a lot, at least for Odell Beckham Jr.

With Carolina Panthers quarterback Baker Mayfield making his preseason debut over the weekend, the NFL posted about Mayfield to their official Instagram account. Interestingly enough, Beckham, Mayfield’s former Cleveland Browns teammate, left a supportive comment in response.

“Go shine!!!!!!” wrote Beckham in reference to Mayfield.

Much has been said about the relationship between Beckham and Mayfield, who were teammates in Cleveland for three seasons from 2019 to 2021. The two never quite got on the same page offensively, and tensions boiled over when Beckham’s father publicly blasted Mayfield for supposedly freezing out his son. The comments from Beckham’s father spurred the Browns to eventually release the three-time Pro Bowl wideout, who then signed with the Los Angeles Rams and won the Super Bowl.

With Mayfield now himself out of Cleveland, it seems whatever animosity existed between the two players is a thing of the past. Beckham being the one to send this peace offering of sorts is also notable given that Mayfield had already preceded it with a gracious message for Beckham.

Von Miller recruiting former teammate to Bills in social media post

Von Miller is putting on his recruiting galoshes this week.

The Buffalo Bills linebacker took to Instagram on Monday to openly recruit free agent receiver Odell Beckham Jr, Miller’s teammate last year on the Los Angeles Rams. On his Instagram Story, Miller posted an edited image of Beckham in a Bills jersey with the caption “@obj let’s chase this ring.”

Miller and Beckham already picked up one ring together last season when the Rams won the Super Bowl. But the two were only teammates for a total of three months, and Miller clearly wants another run at it with Beckham.

Beckham, who remains unsigned after tearing his ACL in the Super Bowl, was also recruited by a Bills legend several days earlier. Additionally, there are some promising signs that Beckham may be open to Buffalo’s overtures.

Odell Beckham Jr hints at interest in AFC team

Odell Beckham Jr. appears to be in no rush to sign with a team, but we may be able to add another contender to the star wide receiver’s list.

Von Miller, who signed with the Buffalo Bills this offseason, shared a short clip on Instagram Sunday from training camp with his new team. Beckham was among those who commented on the post. OBJ asked Miller, “what’s the locker next to you look like!!!??”

Keep in mind that Beckham is probably just trying to boost his stock. He may actually be interested in signing with the Bills, but he also knows it is in his best interest to keep his options open and create as much buzz as possible.

Beckham is said to be drawing interest from multiple contending teams. A lot of people believe he will eventually return to the Los Angeles Rams, but the market for him might grow if there are one or more injuries to top wide receivers around the league.

Beckham tore his ACL in the Super Bowl and is expected to miss at least the first half of the 2022 season. He could be using his timeline for recovery as part of an overall free agent strategy.
