Micah Parsons sums up most of NFL’s feelings on Tom Brady

Tom Brady has been making life difficult for opposing defenses for more than two decades, and one Dallas Cowboys star is not afraid to admit that he wants no part of it.

Micah Parsons, who is entering his second NFL season, has only played against Brady one time. That was apparently enough. With the Cowboys preparing to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their season opener, Parsons joked with reporters on Wednesday that it is about time for Brady to retire.

Parsons also compared Brady to a superhero. He said the 45-year-old simply refuses to stay down.

A lot of players must have been excited when Brady announced his retirement at the start of the offseason. Unfortunately for them, the seven-time Super Bowl champion changed his mind less than two months later. There has been a lot of talk recently about Brady’s love of the game causing problems for him at home, but he is sticking around for at least one more season.

Parsons has an opportunity to make life difficult for Brady on Sunday night. He would clearly prefer to do it against someone else, and who can blame him?

Report: Tom Brady, Gisele not living together

Things still are not going great for Tom Brady in his marriage.

Brady missed 11 days during training camp for a family trip. But he’s still having difficulties in his relationship with wife Gisele Bundchen.

Page Six reported last week that Gisele had left Florida and gone to the family’s home in Costa Rica over her anger with Brady. She reportedly is upset that he unretired and decided to play another NFL season.

Page Six reported on Tuesday that Gisele has since returned to Florida from Costa Rica. However, she apparently is not at the family’s home in Tampa. They say she is believed to be living in Miami, apart from Brady, who is preparing for the season with the Buccaneers.

The issues between the two seem to boil down to Gisele’s perception that Brady cares more about football than his family/relationship with her.

Brady is 45 years old, which is the age he once said he wanted to play until. In late August, the 7-time Super Bowl champion addressed his training camp absence and acknowledged he had a lot of s— going on.

Insane stats show how dominant Tom Brady has been with Bucs

Tom Brady is entering only his third season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and that may be all the time he needs to statistically cement himself as the best quarterback in franchise history.

Brady’s first two seasons with the Bucs were two of the best of his career. He has thrown for 9,949 yards and 83 touchdowns since he joined the team in 2020. Tampa Bay went 24-9 in the regular season and 4-1 in the playoffs combined in those two years. As Luke Easterling of Bucs Wire pointed out, Brady will be at or near the top in several major categories on the Buccaneers’ all-time list if he and the team enjoy similar success this season.

Those stats really say two things. The obvious is that Brady has continued to dominate the NFL well into his 40s and is showing no signs of slowing down. The other is that the Bucs have not been able to keep good quarterbacks around for very long.

Brady, 45, may have a better supporting cast this season than he had in his first two with Tampa Bay. The Bucs have added Julio Jones and Russell Gage to a receiving corps that was already led by Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. As long as Brady stays healthy, he should have no problem throwing for nearly 5,000 yards with at least 39 touchdown passes.

Tom Brady shares 1 way he motivates his Bucs teammates

Tom Brady is a master at using criticism and doubt as motivation, and the seven-time Super Bowl champion is trying to teach that skill to his teammates.

Brady will open the 2022 season with a much different offensive line from the one he had last year. Center Ryan Jensen is out indefinitely after suffering a knee injury during training camp. Guard Alex Stinnie will miss the entire year after he tore his ACL in a preseason game. Pro Bowler Ali Marpet surprisingly announced his retirement earlier this offseason, and Alex Cappa signed with the Cincinnati Bengals in free agency.

In the season debut episode of his “Let’s Go” podcast with Jim Gray, Brady was asked if he has any concerns about what some people have called a patchwork offensive line. You can probably guess how he responded.

“Every time someone says they suck, and they can’t do anything, I’ve tried to show it to them and say, ‘This is what they’re all saying about you. What do you guys think? What are you going to do about it?’ And make sure they know what everyone’s saying,” Brady said, as transcribed by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “I think that’s important. You know, I think I’ve always used little different spites as motivation for me. And I’m a really motivated person. But it always helps when someone says something that’s not flattering. Or someone that still doesn’t believe in you after all these years, you try to prove them wrong. And they still don’t. So you’re going, ‘You know what? Thank you. You know, thank you very much. Let me keep going and proving them wrong.’”

Most people know better than to doubt Brady at this point. That doesn’t really matter to him. All that matters is whether the 45-year-old perceives that someone does not think he can do something. He wants his teammates to take the same approach.

Brady is said to be having some issues in his personal life. Some have wondered if that will impact his preparation, but rivals should not count on it. Even with backup offensive linemen, the safe bet would be on Brady finding a way to make it work.

Tom Brady, Gisele reportedly having relationship issues

Tom Brady has not looked like himself during training camp with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this year, and we may finally know why.

According to a new report from Emily Smith and Sara Nathan of Page Six, Brady and his wife Gisele Bundchen are having serious marital issues. Gisele is said to have left the family’s home in Tampa and gone to Costa Rica amid “a series of heated arguments” over Brady’s decision to continue playing in the NFL.

Brady announced his retirement from the NFL back in February. He then reversed course fewer than two months later. One source told Page Six that Brady assured Gisele he was giving up football to focus on the couple’s family.

“There’s been trouble in the marriage over his decision to un-retire. Gisele has always been the one with the kids,” the source said. “They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind.”

Gisele has reportedly been working more now that Brady decided to play another season in the NFL. One Page Six source described her as “resentful” while another noted that Brady and Bundchen have had similar issues in the past and always worked through them.

There have been a lot of rumors over the years of Brady and Gisele having relationship troubles. Brady even admitted two years ago that Gisele was not happy with the couple’s marriage and that he had to make some changes.

Brady left Bucs training camp for 11 days earlier this month. The 45-year-old still has not given a reason for the absence, which head coach Todd Bowles said Brady cleared through the team well in advance. One longtime Bucs reporter hinted recently that Brady is dealing with a personal issue that would eventually come out.

Man sentenced to 3 years in prison for Tom Brady Super Bowl ring scheme

A New Jersey man was sentenced to three years in prison on Tuesday after he admitted to fraudulently obtaining three Super Bowl rings and selling them for a massive profit.

The U.S. Department of Justice announced in a press release that 25-year-old Scott Spina Jr. was sentenced to 36 months and ordered to pay $63,000 in restitution after he posed as a former New England Patriots player in order to purchase Super Bowl rings. Spina pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud, three counts of wire fraud and one count of aggravated identity theft on Feb. 1.

Spina launched an elaborate scheme in 2017 when he purchased a Super Bowl LI ring from a former Patriots player. He paid for the ring with at least one bad check and then sold it soon after to a well-known Orange County, Calif., championship ring broker for $63,000. When Spina bought the ring, he managed to obtain information about how players can purchase rings for family members.

Spina used that information to come up with a plan to purchase three Super Bowl rings from a company called the Ring Company. He posed as the former player whom he purchased the original ring from. Spina managed to order three family and friends Super Bowl LI rings with “Brady” engraved on them by claiming they were gifts for Brady’s baby.

After he obtained the rings, Spina then contacted the Orange County broker and offered to sell him the three family Super Bowl rings. Spina told the broker the rings were gifts that Brady had given to his nephews. The broker agreed to purchase the three rings for $81,500 but backed out when he became skeptical of the backstory.

The same day the broker backed out, Spina sold all three rings to an auction house for $100,000. One of the rings was later sold during a February 2018 auction for $337,219.

We have heard many stories over the years about counterfeit memorabilia being sold. Spina’s scheme was a lot more unique, and it is one he will be able to think about in prison for a long time.

Tom Brady turned 45 earlier this month, but his fellow players clearly still feel the seven-time Super Bowl champion is at the top of his game.

The NFL announced on Sunday that Brady has claimed the No. 1 spot on the annual Top 100 players list. Brady reacted to the news with a tweet on Monday.

Current NFL players vote to determine the order of the list. They chose Brady as the best player in the league for the fourth time since 2011.

Brady led the NFL last year with 5,316 passing yards and 43 touchdown passes. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went out and signed Julio Jones this offseason. They are also bringing back all of their key offensive skill players outside of Rob Gronkowski. Brady should have a chance to repeat his success from 2021, and we know better than to doubt him based on age.

We know one player who thinks he deserved Brady’s spot, but it is hard to argue against Brady being at the top of any list.

Tom Brady responds to latest Raiders links

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is trying to dispel chatter about how he easily could have wound up somewhere other than his current home after leaving the New England Patriots.

Brady has been the subject of widespread speculation about how he considered the Las Vegas Raiders and Miami Dolphins when he became a free agent after the 2019 season. After Saturday’s preseason game, Brady tried to address that by claiming none of it was true.

“I read all these different stories about all these different places I was supposed to go or could have gone,” Brady said, via Joe Bucs Fan. “I was only going to go to one place, which was here. I think this whole organization knows that. All the conversations that we’ve had over a period of time, I chose the right place for me.”

Brady’s statement really doesn’t make a lot of sense. One of his previous statements, which we now know to be about the Raiders, certainly seems to indicate that he would have been interested in playing for them. Plus, the Dolphins were publicly punished for tampering with Brady before he became a free agent in 2019.

Brady would probably prefer that these things not be a subject of conversation, so he wants to try to put them to bed. This probably won’t do it, but there’s some benefit to putting a final statement down on the subject.

Tom Brady finally addresses his training camp absence

Tom Brady touched on his recent training camp hiatus when he spoke with the media on Saturday night, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star kept things pretty vague.

After he played one series in the Bucs’ preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts, Brady was asked by a reporter about his 11-day absence. He said it is “all personal” and chalked it up to him having “a lot of s— going on” because he’s 45.

There has been a lot of speculation about why Brady left camp. There were some theories that Brady had to film for a reality TV show. Another report said he was on a vacation with his family. More recently, a longtime Bucs reporter indicated that Brady has something serious going on in his personal life that will eventually come out.

One thing is for certain — Brady does not look happy. No one would be surprised if he goes out and leads the league in passing again, but the seven-time Super Bowl champion hardly looks enthusiastic about the upcoming season.

Buccaneers drop hint about Tom Brady’s preseason status

Things appear to be returning to normal for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after some Tom Brady preseason drama.

Buccaneers coach Todd Bowles suggested Thursday that Brady will play some part in Saturday’s preseason finale against the Indianapolis Colts. Any appearance would mark Brady’s preseason debut.

“Everyone who is healthy will play,” Bowles said when asked about Brady’s status, via Jenna Laine of ESPN.

The Buccaneers will want to get Brady in-game reps, even if he doesn’t totally need the work. One important factor will be to get Brady work behind the injury-hit offensive line, as well as ensuring he can connect with new teammate Julio Jones in game action.

Brady has been the subject of speculation after an 11-day absence from camp that was due to “personal reasons.” While the team has sought to downplay the issue as pre-planned and not a big deal, some reports have hinted that this may not necessarily be the case.
