MRI shows no structural damage for Kris Bryant’s shoulder

Kris Bryant

Kris Bryant got some positive news about his shoulder on Friday.

A second MRI on Bryant’s shoulder showed no structural damage. Bryant also does not think he will need offseason surgery on his shoulder.

Bryant was placed on the DL Thursday, marking his second DL stint of the season. The 26-year-old third baseman is batting .276 with an .854 OPS for the Chicago Cubs this season despite dealing with shoulder pain since May. Cubs manager Joe Maddon recently spoke about the matter as a situation Bryant would have to deal with the rest of the year.
