Watch: TBS announcer takes funny jab at Yankee Stadium

Yankee Stadium

One of TBS’ announcers took a funny jab at Yankee Stadium while calling Game 1 of the ALDS between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox on Friday night.

JD Martinez belted a ball to deep right field during the bottom of the third inning against reliever Chad Green. The ball was caught in front of the wall by Aaron Judge for nothing more than a long out that advanced a runner.

TBS announcer Brian Anderson made light of Yankee Stadium’s dimensions by joking that the ball would have been 30 rows up at the park in the Bronx:

Yankee Stadium is an extremely shallow 314 down the right field line. And while they say it’s 385 feet to right center, the park is short in right field and regularly ranks as among the most home run-friendly parks in MLB.

True baseball fans should appreciate Anderson’s humor in that comment. We know one former player definitely did.
