York Revolution’s Sean Smith circles bases on torn ACL after home run (Video)

Sean Smith never made much of his baseball career in the minor leagues, but he made major headlines for what he did on Friday night.

Smith, an outfielder with the York Revolution of the independent Atlantic League, hit a game-tying home run in the 8th inning of his team’s game with the Sugar Land Skeeters. While rounding first base, Smith somehow tore his ACL and went down to the dirt. Smith got up and circled the bases to score the tying run … hopping around as best as he could.

With a fairy tale story like this, you know there had to be a happy ending, and there was — the Revolution won 3-2 in 10 innings.
