Brittney Griner, girlfriend Glory Johnson arrested for assault
Brittney Griner and her girlfriend, fellow WNBA player Glory Johnson, were reportedly arrested in Phoenix on Wednesday on suspicion of assault and disorderly conduct.
TMZ reports that Griner and Johnson allegedly attacked each other, and police observed “minor physical injuries” on both women when they arrived at Griner’s home at around 4:30 p.m. They were both released early Thursday morning.
Griner, who led the Mercury to a WNBA championship last year, got engaged to Johnson last summer. The two were planning to get married next month in Phoenix.
As we learned before, Griner’s contract with the Mercury has some very interesting clauses in it. There’s no word yet on if one of those is not getting arrested in connection with a domestic dispute.
