Dewayne Dedmon, Kings reportedly have ‘strong’ mutual interest

The Sacramento Kings were one of the bigger surprises in the NBA this past season when they managed to win 39 games, and they are looking to address one of their biggest needs this summer.

A serviceable big man is a must-add for the Kings, and Sacramento radio host Carmichael Dave reports that there is mutual interest between them and free agent center Dewayne Dedmon.

Dedmon has played for five different teams in his six NBA seasons, and his last two with the Atlanta Hawks were by far his most productive. The 29-year-old averaged a career-high 10.8 points per game last season to go along with 7.5 rebounds and 1.1. blocks.

The Kings are also said to be interested in Al Horford, but Dedmon would be a much less expensive option and Horford may prefer to sign with a title contender if he has the opportunity.

Dedmon may not be an All-Star, but there’s a reason we included him in our list of the 10 best under-the-radar free agents. He’ll be a nice addition for whichever team signs him.
