Kobe Bryant Scores 48, Takes Shot at ESPN’s Player Rankings
Kobe was pleased with his performance and used the opportunity to take a shot at ESPN, which ranked him the seventh-best player in the league prior to the season.
“Not bad for the 7th best player in the league,” Kobe said.
Bryant was also motivated by playing the Suns, who knocked the Lakers out of the playoffs in back-to-back season from 2006-2007.
“I don’t like them,” Bryant said of Phoenix. “Plain and simple, I do not like them. They used to whip us pretty good and used to let us know about it and I. Will. Not. Forget. That.”
Kobe’s 48 was his highest point total since scoring 42 in March, also against the Suns. He’s now gone for at least 30 in four of the last five games. Not bad for a guy with a bad wrist.
