LeBron James shoots down hypothetical question about Pacers’ last shot

LeBron James is not a huge fan of what-ifs.

James reacted negatively to a question after the Cleveland Cavaliers managed to escape with a 109-108 win over the Indiana Pacers in Game One of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals Saturday when asked what would have happened if C.J. Miles’s last-second jumper had fallen.

“I don’t know. There’s no way to even answer that question,” James said, via Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com. “If I didn’t get that block last year in the Finals, what happens?” James said. “If Kyrie (Irving) didn’t make the 3? If Steph (Curry) would have made the 3. There’s so many (hypotheticals).

“If it’s not a rain delay in Cleveland here in the World Series, then we win the World Series. Listen, you can’t ask that question, man.”

James’s ultimate conclusion summed it up: “He missed, we won.”

You can understand James’s annoyance. There’s not a lot to say about a hypothetical, especially after a game in which James was clearly not satisfied with his team’s play.
