New info emerges about Draymond Green’s suspension

The NBA has yet to announce a specific number of games for Draymond Green’s suspension, but some new information has surfaced about how long the Golden State Warriors star might be sidelined.

Green has begun counseling and will remain suspended for at least the next three weeks, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

The NBA announced on Dec. 13 that Green has been suspended indefinitely after he clubbed Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkic in the head during a game (video here). Green will have to meet certain criteria before he is cleared to return, though no details have been revealed about the steps the league is requiring him to take.

Green’s indefinite suspension is his second of the season. He was banned for five games last month after an in-game choking incident on Minnesota Timberwolves star Rudy Gobert. The NBA took Green’s history as a repeat offender into consideration when handing down the latest discipline.

If Green misses another three weeks, his suspension would amount to about 12 games.

Green, 33, is averaging 9.7 points, 5.8 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game this season.
