Larry Eustachy placed on administrative leave

Larry Eustachy

Larry Eustachy has been placed on administrative leave by Colorado State University athletic director Joe Parker.

Early last week, word emerged the university was investigating Eustachy’s behavior and the program. On Saturday, it was announced Eustachy has been asked to step away from the program on a temporary basis.

“I have asked head coach Larry Eustachy to temporarily step away from the men’s basketball program, as he has been placed on administrative leave while we conclude our climate assessment,” Parked said in a statement, via The Denver Post. “We are diligently working through this assessment as expeditiously as possible, understanding the importance of a thorough and fair process. No conclusions have been made.”

Eustachy was also investigated in 2014 and admitted to creating a culture that did not meet Colorado State’s standards. He was not fired after that investigation. It, of course, remains to be seen what the ultimate outcome will be after this current situation.

Eustachy arrived at Colorado State in 2012 after eight seasons at Southern Mississippi. He is 121-74 as head coach of the Rams’ men’s basketball program. Associate head coach Steve Barnes will take over as head coach on an interim basis.
