Brian Kelly says Notre Dame did not prepare well with silent snap count

The noise level at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Georgia on Saturday night was more than Notre Dame prepared for with their game against the Bulldogs.

During his halftime interview with CBS on Saturday, Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly said his coaching staff had done a poor job preparing the offense for a silent snap count.

“Obviously didn’t do a very good job getting our football team ready for a silent cadence,” Kelly said. “That’s on us. We’ll settle down in the second half and be better at it.”

Sanford Stadium was packed full of Georgia fans who were pumped about the game. They made it a noisy, rowdy environment that was difficult on their opponents.

The Irish managed 10 points in the first half, which was enough to take a 10-7 lead. Quarterback Ian Book was still 16/24 for 146 yards and a touchdown in the half despite the noise issues.
