Jim Harbaugh ‘bitterly disappointed’ with referees in loss

Jim Harbaugh

A few controversial calls did not go Michigan’s way in the Wolverines’ 30-27 double-overtime loss at Ohio State on Saturday, so it’s no surprise that Jim Harbaugh expressed his disappointment with the officials afterwards.

The Michigan head coach repeatedly said he was “bitterly disappointed” in the officiating in the Wolverines’ game at Ohio State.

Harbaugh referenced a pass interference call on a 3rd and 7 play from the Buckeyes’ 21 that enabled Ohio State to get a first down on their game-tying drive.

Harbaugh also complained about the spot on the 4th and 1 run by JT Barrett in double-overtime that preceded the game-winning score.

Harbaugh called the calls “outrageous” and also said he got a lame explanation for the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty he received for this display.

The calls certainly seemed to favor Ohio State. Michigan was penalized 7 times for 59 yards, while Ohio State was only flagged twice for six yards.

Harbaugh may come across as a bitter whiner, but he may have a point.
