Report: Les Miles in the mix for Baylor coaching position

Les Miles carried

Baylor football has a big rebuilding job to do, and one prominent coach is on their list of people who may do it.

According to Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports, former LSU coach Les Miles is on Baylor’s short list as a possible permanent hire. However, Cal coach Sonny Dykes and North Carolina coach Larry Fedora are more frequently linked to the position, with Dykes’s offense and ties to Texas being viewed as big positives.

Miles made clear to CBS Sports that he would be willing to consider any offers from a Power Five school.

The ex-LSU coach, who was fired earlier in the season, has made it very clear repeatedly that he intends to coach again. He’s even reportedly heard about the concerns over his offensive philosophy and is preparing to adapt. Baylor would be an interesting opportunity for Miles, but expect him to keep his options open and see what comes his way at season’s end.
