LSU to continue playing two quarterbacks

Myles Brennan

Florida is not the only prominent SEC team using multiple quarterbacks. LSU played two quarterbacks in its win last weekend over Syracuse, and they expect that to continue.

LSU head coach Ed Orgeron said on Tuesday that freshman Myles Brennan will continue to see game action for the Tigers.

Brennan entered a 21-10 game in the third quarter against Syracuse last weekend and led LSU on a touchdown drive. He stayed in the game for a second drive and moved the team into opponent territory before being intercepted. Etling came back as the team’s starter in its following possession and led a TD drive.

For the game, Etling was 10 of 17 for 188 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Brennan was 4 of 6 for 75 yards and a pick.

Etling is a fifth-year senior and despite being the team’s starter most of the past year, he leaves a lot to be desired. He has just three touchdown passes on the season. Brennan is lauded by LSU’s coaches for being a quick decision maker with the football.

Expect to see both QBs in Saturday’s game against Troy.
