NCAA says Boise State can immediately help homeless Antoine Turner

The NCAA has finally decided to act after a lot of public pressure and now they say Boise State may provide immediate assistance to Antoine Turner, an incoming football player.

The NCAA sent this tweet on Wednesday after Turner’s story began receiving attention this week:

As we covered earlier on Wednesday, Boise State fans wanted to help Turner, who has had a life of hardship. His mother died in Hurricane Katrina, his father is estranged, and he was no longer allowed to live with his uncle because of housing regulations. That led him to live with his girlfriend and sleep in motels or at the park.

A defensive end and transfer from Fullerton JC in California, Turner will now be able to receive assistance from Boise State in the form of immediate room and board, as he should.
